Bloggers of the World Unite

I'm well aware that the vast majority of you come here for the potty humor, and can only remind you that the key to a long and happy marriage is to always clear your browser history.

But we have a quick item this morning for that small subset of my readership that come to show solidarity with the working blogger against The Man.  Dialectical Materialism for the country club set, as it were.

Shackelford, whose working class bona fides are beyond reproach, has frequently posted Golf Channel ratings via a source operating under the nom de blog of Son of The Bronx.  Now comes word from Shack that the Empire has struck back:
With all of the money poured into sports rights fees these days, Son Of The Bronx's weekly ratings posting were driving select sports executives nuts. I know this because I heard the complaints firsthand (though oddly not from Golf Channel, then again their numbers have been strong).
Now it seems the folks at Blogger.com are complying with the complaints by deleting various ratings posts.
As the SO(t)B explains:
I love TV ratings.
And I love to post those TV ratings as well.
However, Blogger has recently began removing my recent blog posts because they allege to infringe on copyrights, with more removals to come.
Despite numerous references to sources of ratings information (included in every single blog post), it seems they are not enough grounds to counter these removals.
Blogger also hosts your favorite golf blog, because of it's robust customer service intuitive templates access to lucrative GoogleAds it's free.  I'd love to find a better hosting service, but until Golf Digest adds me to The Loop, free is the determining variable.

Blogger is part of Google, whose motto once upon a time was Don't be Evil.  It's not as simple as Google being evil, but in a sense they're a carrier.  Deep-pocketed parties allege copyright violations all the time, knowing that the hosting company (Blogger/Google) has no vested interest and the poster of the content has no pockets.  And I'll note that a party that frequently uses this model is out very own PGA Tour, which often uses such alleged copyright notices to take down video of which they disapprove, think of the recent incident with the Stenson shank.

The only thing missing from Son of the Bronx's post is information on where the picket line is forming.  Because you know I'll be on the front lines of that barricade...unless, of course, it happens to fall on aday when our club is open.
